For the Glory of My Master
Nini Cizzo lurked in the shadow of the bush that sheltered her in the Fearing Fens. The Kipestas slowly unfurled their wings, exiting the crater-like tunnel one by one. Rolling their monstrous heads from side to side, the Kitins were exploring the region, fulfilling their role as scouts for the approaching Swarm.
The young rookie of the Karavia Guild had never faced a Swarm before, but like any Matis Vassal, she knew the danger the onslaught of thousands of Kitins on homin cities posed. Breathing carefully, Nini Cizzo gathered her courage and crept through the bushes and past the Kipestas; the King must be informed of the danger that has came up from underneath the bark.
OOC: Friday, 11 December 20:00 GMT, the King will appeal to all Matis Vassals to dispell the Swarm in Upper Bog. All Matis Vassals shall gather at the northern gate of the City of Yrkanis under the command of the Guild of Karavia.

Matis and non-Matis gathered and listened to the appeal of King Yrkanis, then set forth southwards, following Dazzie and Sharonie to the Fearing Fens. Reaching the outpost, we fanned out, found a small swarm of Kitin and cleared them. Even the leader, whom I heard someone call Kith'eth, was tough but swift to fall to homin might. We must have passed close to Nini as she crept along cautiously, but she did not see us. The first we knew she was calling to us from the outpost, warning us of the swarm we had just put down.
But there was more to come. She also said that she had seen an even larger group near a hole deep in Heretics Hovel. Her fear in fleeing had caused her to miss her landmarks, but as she followed us, with Sweetmarie leading the way into the maze that is Heretics Hovel, her memory was jogged. In short order we had found the Kitin swarm in the Chilling Swamp, surrounded by Gibbai and Torbaks. We moved in slowly, then came to a horror of a Kitin. It appeared to be a Great Kizarak, but even the might of our combined axes, maces and elemental spells seemed barely to touch it, and sometimes it seemed that it grew stronger even as we hit it. Only the persistence of Grundelwolf and Sweetmarie, and the bravery of Nini Cizzo, who stood with axe against it, kept us working as we beat off Gibbai and Torbaks that wished to make a homin lunch on those of us facing the monster. Finally it fell, and we turned to the rest of the swarm. After that epic combat, even a Destructor Kipuka seemed easy, though in fact it was not.
And there, in the depths of the swamp was a monument. Others looked at it, I was two busy regaining my strength and breath. I am sure more will come of it. What I saw was that the Kitin, even the strongest of them, cannot prevail against the races of hominity if we stand together.
