Official Ryzom Client for GNU/Linux¶
This page explains how to install and play Ryzom, the game, under GNU/Linux in native.
Ryzom is the first commercial MMORPG to be completely under free software (client, server, tools source code, 3d, textures assets...). You can read the Press Release for more information.
To make it easier to play Ryzom on Linux, we packed a version with the pre-compiled client binary and data that works on all recent Linux distro. Of course, you can download the source code and compile it by yourself following these instructions.
The current archive uses the revision 551 of the repository.
Installation¶
- Download the archive in 7z (1.5 GB) or in tar.bzip2 (2.8 GB)
- Create a Ryzom Game account (Free (as free beer) without restriction for 21 days, no credit card required, 60s sign up process)
- Unpack the archive
- Run

- Be sure you have
7zrandwgetinstalled (or install it:sudo apt-get install p7zip wget) - Open a Terminal and copy paste:
wget https://sourceforge.net/projects/ryzom/files/ryzom_client.7z/download 7zr x ryzom_client.7z cd ryzom_client ./ryzom_client
Tested Linux Distro¶
- Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - 64 bits
- Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - 32 bits
- Debian testing/sid/experimental
