After a rather frustrating couple days I finally posted here the problems with compiling the server tools to find they were broken anyway. I set off to fix them and fixed 5 of the 7. One I considered useless as a development tool since the future dnf files will not need conversion. The other is a work in progress and is not really necessary as the world editor is available from another sln in the main tools.
There is a couple issues with the server but it is functional. One is the rrdtool has problems with access on the backup server. Not a big issue right now and can be ignored for testing. The client crashed once when selecting a race for character creation.
recompiled everything and fixed up the client to connect to my vista machine. With 16 servers running, the client and fraps things got SLOW but this video shows that Ryzom open source can be compiled on Vista with login of client and game play.
